It’s that time of year again: Halloween is just around the corner.  One of the most important things about Halloween is dressing up and you’ve found a great costume for yourself but what about your child?  There are so many selections from animals, princesses, reptiles, amphibians, and insect, to some of the more popular children’s characters that are on television and in the movies right now.

Costumes can range from the realistic, a homage to the monarch butterfly, a beautiful insect, in the form of a toddler butterfly costume, to the imaginary like the ever-popular fairy costumes.  Any child can dress up in a fancy dress but it takes a certain type to be able to pull off a butterfly princess-fairy.  Of course, these are only a few choices and there are many other types to choose from.  So the question is: How do you know when a costume is right for you and your child?

One thing to consider is your child’s interests.  Do you think that they would enjoy walking around dressed in an infant butterfly costume?  If yes, then what type do you think would best suit your child?  After all, there are so many different types of baby butterfly costume to choose from.  These can range from the most frilly and fluffy to the most fancy dress that you’ve ever seen, placing your child in the role of a butterfly-princess.

Now, one might think that being dressed as an insect in an infant butterfly costume might be a little bit difficult to do as usually a child butterfly costume would also include the humongous wings that so obviously make a butterfly stand out.  While it is true that most often a baby butterfly costume would have wings, there are some that are made of bendable and flexible material that are better suited for a child butterfly costume than one would think.

In general, most costumes are made out of polyester so it’s always a good idea to make sure that your child is not allergic to it before putting them into a toddler butterfly costume.  It would also be a wise idea to find out your child’s tolerance level when it comes to fluffy or flexible wings and, if the costume comes with it, the potentially bobby head piece as there would be no point in buying something if your child refused to wear it due to a low tolerance level with that particular item of clothing.

Costumes may not always be the most affordable things to buy but if you did so after Halloween was over for the year, you would get better prices and spending a bit on Halloween is always worth it to see your son or daughter dressed up.

Whether you want your child to be fluffy and cute, spotted and accurate, or fancy and winged you can and will always find a costume for you and your son or daughter. They will be as adorable as you want them to be.
